- Own work and {{PD-self}} claimed by User:Mackerm when he or she first uploaded it to the English Wikipedia, do you have a specific reason to doubt the claim? Regards, Kjetil_r 18:42, 18 August 2017 (UTC)
- Such a claim is mostly bogus for maps. People call themselves 'author' for random reasons. Sometimes they make a derivative work of an existing map and think that they are the sole copyright holder of the result. I have seen identical copies of the same map with 'own work' claims from up to 4 different users. Own work claims for maps without any explanation have mostly no value.
